Threads Afar is about the intersection of textiles, culture, and travel, and more.
We believe that cultural connections enrich us, broaden our understanding of the world, and deepen our relationship to it. Threads connect, weaving lasting memories, identifying personal style, drawing us closer to what is most meaningful. This metaphor extends to folk art, all that is handmade, and our relationships.
Founded in 2026, Threads Afar honors the rich intersection of textiles, culture, and travel. We connect artisan makers with seekers of Indigenous craft and cultural traditions through storytelling, a curated shop of handmade textiles and folk art, and select journeys that engage travelers through immersive, hands-on experiences with artists and communities. We engage in a dialogue together to learn, go deeper, appreciate, and support each other, making lasting friendships along the way.
